We’re finally getting flying cars??? OMG!!!

This design has quite a few innovations. First, it flies and drives with the same engine, hence it uses regular car fuel for flying. Terrafugia claims it will be able to fly up to 500 miles on a single tank of gas at a cruising speed of 115 mph. Second, the whole thing fits inside the car body. Terrafugia’s top chief Carl Dietrich said, “This is the first really integrated design where the wings fold up automatically and all the parts are in one vehicle.”
If the tests are successful, the company hopes to have the production model hitting the street in some 18 months. And all of us nerds that daydream about flying over those damned traffic jams will smile.
